Group therapy involves one or more counselors who lead a group of roughly five to 10 clients. Typically, groups meet for an hour or two each week and run anywhere from 6-8 weeks.  Most groups become closed to other members once the group sessions begin. Some people attend individual therapy in addition to groups, while others participate in groups only.  Group counseling can be a more economical approach to therapy and  remain very effective.

Many groups are designed to target a specific problem, such as depression, obesity, panic disorder, social anxiety, chronic pain or addiction.  Other groups focus more generally on improving social skills, helping people deal with a range of issues such as anger, shyness, loneliness, divorce or relationships.

Groups often help those who have experienced loss, whether it be a spouse, a child or sibling.
Mind Body & Beyond will be running  Group Therapy Sessions several times per year. Please check our calendar for dates and the description of the groups being offered.
